Giona Panarello is a PhD student in Political Science and a researcher in the SNSF-funded DIVIDE project, working under the supervision of Professor Oliver Strijbis. In his doctoral research, he studies the relationship between perceptions of procedural fairness and populist attitudes in direct-democratic votes. He specializes in survey methodology.听
Giona earned his Master鈥檚 degree through a double-degree program in Global Politics and Euro-Mediterranean Relations (University of Catania) and European Studies (Europa-Universit盲t Flensburg), after completing a Bachelor鈥檚 degree in History, Politics and International Relations at the University of Catania. Prior to joining Franklin, he served as a Research Assistant in the Jean Monnet Chair 鈥淐hallenges to Democracy and Representation in the EU鈥, led by Professor Marcello Carammia. Beyond academia, he has experience in project coordination and public communication, and he has presented his work at international conferences.
