The time has finally come!We are proud to officially announce the formal partnership between 鶹 and the .

On Thursday, March 25, 2021, the representatives of the Cultural Department of Lugano hosted an official press conference to formally introduce the exciting collaboration,which aims to bring further attraction and engagement with Lugano's historical and cultural heritageby means ofa digital experience. The new enhances the old, thus a union betweenhistory andnew technologies has begun. The municipality’s representatives announced the implementation of 54historical and touristsignslocated at the foot ofimportant landmarks within the Lugano region. This network of signs, which extend through six neighborhoods,is expected to increase the historical and cultural appeal of monuments and points of interest of the city. Theambitious project brings togetherurban spaces, heritage, culture and communication, by engaging different municipal and cantonal entities and institutions, including 鶹. 

Franklin'ssenior Capstonestudents have been closely working on the creation of a start-up business plan dedicated to the city's initiative, in an effort to increase historical awareness and landmark interaction, targeting not only residents but also the numerous tourists who visit the region.More specifically, the students are working on implementing innovative, digital andtechnological platformswhich, combined with the historical and cultural signs, are expected to amuseand entertain visitors’ experience throughout the city.

Senior Capstone studentOscar Pfeiffer Sánchez'21, states: “Creating a start-up at Franklin is the best way to be introduced to the real world.We are currently working on the development of an App and website to gamify the cultural heritage of the city, as well as attract people to discover and search for Lugano's hidden gems.” This incredible learning opportunity aligns perfectly with Franklin's mission: “To challenge students through a curriculum that integrates the liberal arts with professional pathways.”
